Killian hasn’t been a bad person at all since the beginning. Emotional, yes, but he’s a realistic character. Just because you say mean things, doesn’t mean you’re a bad person. This story is quite good in portraying how he is independent in thinking and sees the need for fairness in judgement. Despite the bias by the FL ‘fictional’ luck, he’s a normal decent guy. And Edith isn’t all about getting riled up because people misunderstood her and so angsty to the point of wanting revenge 24/7. There’s more to living than plotting others’ misery.
Down the line, these couple is one of the most decent ones I’ve ever encountered in novel. They’re not flat and reading about them doesn’t make me feel like the author is preying on my emotion — I get to formulate what I think of the characters independently.
