With the spoilers, Cliff is…complicated to me. It’s not like he’s “bad, evil, absolute trash” but he’s still unpleasant and uncomfortable. Many awful things are still taking place by his hand. He being completely uneasy so it’s OK to feel that way about him. Always with the knowledge that this is not the real him though

To that one or two comments giving spoiler before me~
First of all, Lize and the author are not different person.. they are the same person.
And second of all, I agreed but also not agreed abt Cliff is not a bad person.. To put it simply, Cliff just too blinded by his love to Lize to the point that he would do anything for her even it is to kill Edith.. for example, during the boat incident, Cliff indirectly help Lize to make the boat malfunction when he told Samuel to help him (to give time for Lize messed up with the boat, which he know), another was near the end of the novel
❗MAJOR SPOILER❗ When Edith was accused to betrayed the Rudwick fam, he urges his father to kill Edith immediately before Killian return bcs he know Killian would do anything to save Edith (ofc good thing that the duke ignored him) iirc, there’s Cliff pov abt Lize where he say he know Lize try to kill Edith and confessed that he will help the woman he loves achieve her goal.. the point is, Cliff is a sharp guy with twisted morals ig ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Am I the only one who has known the spoilers and is not thinking bad about cliff? I mean you might have known that lize is definitely using something to manipulate people’s minds- (if you know u know) and with that cliff was manipulated more because he would be the head and he sticks around her- wouldn’t agree that both cliff and killan were not supporting Edith but at some times when killan started to stay away from lize- he got back from the manipulation and now is living happily- with that the whole ass ducal family have been manipulated- and with the information that I have- it’s lize and the author- as author made her the antagonist- in this reincarnation-

Cliff is trash…he has no excuse because he knows very well that Lize is the reason why Edith has to go through all this. He even helped her many Time to achieve her schemes against Edith. Cliff knows that Lize is a white lotus but he didn’t Say anything in the name of love… Even if he’s influenced by thé original story, he’s still trash.
