Lol, i have a mixed feeling about this. Personally, I like the ending in the novel. Its not just about Edith’s struggles and injuries that made the story had a roller coaster ending but because the moment when Killian should beheaded Edith, that was the peak of the Edith’s character arc as a main villainess in original novel and ending that she wanted to avoid most. By the time, she was saved due to Killian heroic act and decision change, that was when we know, Edith is successfully pass her biggest trial. And even until the end, Killian became Edith’s number one hero. I feel that, their dynamics and relationship in the novel is stronger than in manhwa.
I also like the moment when Lise begging for Edith to beg for her life yet Edith remains in her state, that she won’t beg for her life because she is not at fault. I like her in this moment. It is also related to the 3rd condition from the author.
But, at the same time, i like some changes in the manhwa regarding the Princess and Duke. Like they have their own arcs, not only just supporting characters in original novels.
Seeing the changes in manhwa, i think it would be better if the ending could be combined between the novel and manhwa. For example, after Edith’s sufferings, she is saved by Killian and later “rewarded” by the Duke and Princess with the important acknowledgements. With this dynamics, Killian’s biggest role wouldn’t be kicked to the sidelines.

I don’t know which version I prefer, novel version it was a lot of pain for her and only heroic actions from Killian and the Duke gave the decision of Edith’s sentence to Killian. Here it’s more the Duke comes to his sense and think by himself and Edith’s action and force of character is realized by the other characters, like the control of the author is reduced a lot more in this version than the novel.

In the novel, these chapters were very tense and emotional.
But I find that I don’t mind if they changed it up a bit. It gives little redemption to the duke, and actually gave a role for the duchess. Although, I would have loved to see Lize begging for edith to beg for her life
