To the ppl hating on the artist u need to understand that it’s not the artists fault but I understand the frustration. However the artist is not the one calling the shots on how the story is adapted, what to keep, what to change, how to depict things that happens. There’s a whole team behind them. Writers, storyboarders, editors etc and most importantly all the higher up execs (I don’t know all their position names) and most likely shareholders who may not care about authenticity to the novel or actually having a compelling or stakes driven narrative or simple don’t understand why a character (even if they’re fl) should get hurt and show the damages and the scenes rather than them having the clean pretty look all the time.
Also u have to think of the age demographic they were trying to hit as well. If it was young children (or young women and they have a bias where they think women can’t take gory things, which is less likely) then it makes sense y they wouldn’t have gory scenes and show more injuries no matter how much it messes up the integrity of the stakes and consequences in the story.
All this to say it’s probably not the artists fault. They were most like just hired to draw and that’s it.

also, while i agree that the lead up, execution scene, and lizes story were more interesting, i don’t mind the changes. i think of the novel as inspiration (like this is another parallel ubiverse from that one, lol) and it’s a little more fun to read than a direct retelling because it still has surprises. sure, the novel’s better, but this story is lighter and fun. it doesn’t need to be a scene for scene copy.

things are a lot different than in the novel, and the first sons looking a lot worse to both readers and the duke (he wasn’t *quite* as complicit in the novel). i really hope this doesn’t change the succession and mess up their plans to go to raizen, because edith deserves better than to remain here as duchess.

That doesn’t make any sense if she was becoming crazy cuz of the same ending and wanting to change the plot so she can continue, wudnt she be happy with the changes from 13th Edith, if she didn’t interfere she wudnt meet her demise either. Reading the comments about wht happened in the novel makes much more sense why did they have to change tht it was generally so much better backstory as well

Eh, the novel explain things way better. She as an author was extremely arrogant, she created a group of authors making sure she was the best writer there, and made them show her their wips under the guise of guidance but she actually gave malicious comments(she enjoyed having power over them, being a big name author and having so many people fighting for her attention, time, advices etc). But another author of the group wrote a huge success, making the group turn to him instead. Angry, “K” started leaving malicious comments under his work anonymously, even mentioning his mother, father and little brother. The last straw was when “k” left a comment telling him to stop writing and he sued her. What was his surprise meeting the authors group’s mentor “k” in court? When this was discovered by her online community, she was boycotted and had to change her pen name. She started spiraling and her parents got worried, asked her to go to a therapist, which offended “K”. She left her parents home, tried to write a second book with the same success of “getting rid of the Obsession ” but it was a “miserable failure”. She spiraled even more, got convinced that she was Lise and all she had to do was “transmigrate” into the story to enjoy being adored by everyone. Without anyone around her to stop her, that’s what she did. Surprisingly she did become Lise! But every time she reached the end of the novel she would return to the beginning. The infinite loop was driving her crazy until she decided to “add a little thrill” to her life by choosing someone to possess Edith. With a villainess to fight against(she always made sure to trap them within the book’s plot) her life was enjoyable again. Of course she didn’t cared that the other Ediths died and would keep on bringing other Ediths to die by Killian’s hands but 13th Edith came and ruined “K’s” little game. The manhwa made her look like a victim of the system but “K” is very much an aggressor. Look at all the times she tried to kill Edith. In the book her fall from grace is enjoyable because does it all in her own. The manhwa is really holding some things from the story back. I can understand but still.

Why did the artist cut this out from the manhwa? its amazing backstory, i would rather make the chapters go for longer than skip such a chunk of important character motivation

Honestly, i don’t like this direction. What’s whit this “Disney happy ending” type. Ngl, the artist is really downplaying the importance of this execution scene. Romantic and lovey dovey scenes before beheaded criminals in front of ordinary citizen is just stupid.
The original scene was trials for treason with high tensions. Killian torture Shane with the most painful death after knowing how Shane hit Edith many times, gave painful scenery to Sophia, and after Edith pass the 3rd condition, the Count spilled Edith’s past to everyone.
Also, K was crueler in the novel. She was not only delusion but also hurt the other novelists. She became Lise after commit suicide not teleport to novel. She doesn’t care at all with Killian, more over hate him just because Killian didn’t chose her. She is a narcissist who only care for Lise’s beautiful and young state. She intentionally “made” dying reader as Edith to play with their lives, because she is just bored.
There are so much chopped details from novel that made the manhwa lose connection from dots to dots. The importance scene of Killian saved Edith also being downplayed.

Okay, so she kept reincarnating and got so obsessed and depressed, eventually getting stockholm syndrome to the reincarnation loop she was forced into. Honestly… as terrible as everything she’s done, it kinda makes sense she went evil and insane(depending on how long she’s been in the loop).

Ew so cliff is like her talking vibrator that does whatever she wants. I’m more curious about the “system” origins tho. It would be cool if the actual author made other stories like this to slowly connect it, sort of like “cheating men must die” but individual comics. 👀
