Taking in air resistance and gravity into account means that the bomb went off approximately 6.2 to 12.4 miles in the air. Even suppressed their would still be structural damage like shattered windows, damaged roofs, and because of the time period setting probably some partially collapsed buildings. Not to mention, she’s not hearing anything that is said due to major hearing loss.
