Complete understandable from FL side she didn’t hate herself she hates “Serena” it’s not self hate I mean she literally “re-posses” Serena so she wanting to move away from original plot and she acknowledge Serena evil behavior makes sense.

Realistically speaking it happened 3 times that she posses someone elses (2 times as Serena first as child, second when “evil” Serena already did evil deed) who’s to say it won’t happen again so her plan make sense, she failed the first time when she tried to be good when she’s a child because her body return to original “villainess” serena after the carriage accident.

It’s back to the point of who’s fault is it? Well all party involved excluding FL. Sure the dad was neglectful but he’s not abusive Serena was also already have adult mentality and she also said the marquis house was the closest thing she have to “home” in her 3 lives but for the sake of her plan she have to push him away. Serena also at fault (not FL) despite everything Serena did do evil deed including poisoning crown princess so FL being prejudice and wary against Serena’s past action is understandable.

So FL has a right to be weary, she doesn’t have anyone on her side. No one asked any questions when she did bad things in the past. They all are sitting back and watching her destroy herself. Rn, the dad is making this about himself and his problems. He ignored his wife’s words like how he’s ignoring his daughter now.
I got trust issues, but damnnn at least I don’t completely hate myself like FL. I push away or overshare scare (trauma dump) good people, then have a hard time letting go of the bad ones who caused said issues. 🥴 If the dad was neglectful and abusive like mine, then made a crying scene like that my old self would probably fall for his bs out of pressure. Bc I know he’ll break that promise soon after. FL dad needs to put in some work to prove he won’t go back on his word, bc slapping sense into her is going to cause more anxiety.

It’s already bad enough everyone talks bad about her. When she makes a decision, she doesn’t know if it is the right or wrong one because she often gets criticism as feedback. She needs to heal first before she can believe in her own choices so that the gossip no longer affects her.
