The father is the one who set up his children against each other. They all grew up in abusive situations, manipulated by the father. Fl was isolated and denied learning swordsmanship etc and set up as the ‘favourite’ by the father knowing that will bring hate on her.
Now the father forces her to join a test she had zero training for after he forced her to grow up more helpless and isolated.
