Sorry but why is everyone surprised that Luca is of royal descendt? Like Judith has royal blood so did her sister -> the mother of Luca. And Jonas the father is clear here. Like it kinda disturbed me a lot how noone wants to speak it out loud in this story that its basically in cest but ye Luca is even through both parents a royal family member.
Read the spoiler below. Damn how unlucky can someone be to give birth to a trash like Jonas? Sophie is so loyal and lovely. I thought the Duke was evil but damn, with someone as evil/trashy as Jonas it makes sense that the Duke had to be a bigger evil to defeat him. Conclusion? Duke not evil, just had to do something bad because Jonas would have harmed too many innocent people.
The duke admit to killing Jonas. Again as mentioned, he didn’t care who his heir is, and in fact he didn’t care who can make a wish or not, but what made him care was the words Jonas said. Jonas wanted to be king. He was arrogant, greedy and had a horrible personality. The fact he wanted to be king would be called treason if he was to be heir of Winterwald. But what really made the duke upset was Jonas looked down on Sophie, who was his mother’s maid. Jonas think Sophie is an eye sore and wanted to kill her after he becomes king. The duke knew Jonas could use the cup to become king and try to ruin the country and kill Sophie, so he killed Jonas. Of course he kept all that a secret from Sophie since he thought it would hurt her.
The current Duke’s Love for Ruediger’s mother is the reason why he killed Jonas, because Jonas was planning to kill her… Or something like that … I’m not sure tho so don’t quote me on that been a while since I’ve read this novel
