Lastly, it will never be the child’s fault for existing, so why should they be the ones who have to pay for their parent’s sin, whether they cheated or not? If she wants to kill someone for revenge, kill the parents who sired the child. The child never wished to be born anyway. It was the parents. So, I beg to disagree with your argument.

@Lioness… first of all, the emperor didn’t cheat. Terrence is older than Mikhail, and the emperor had him with his ex-fiance (fiancee? I don’t know which one) before he was engaged to the current empress. Another, I think it was her family’s plot to have the emperor and his lover to not end up happily ever after anyway, so maybe there really isn’t any reason for her actions to be justified? (I mean like, yeah, maybe she didn’t want any of this to happen, but she was trying to kill a human being without any mercy…?)

I always have a soft spot for some empresses like this. The pain and discipline you need to become Empress is horrible. You lose ur childhood and on top of that, when the fucking emperor cheats on you, can’t cheat back nor divorce because of family pressure. The one thing that keeps you going is the hope of your son becoming the next emperor and then, the emperor wants to make some hoe’s son the next emperor. I get why she kills them and their offspring, a mother would usually do anything for her son.

An empress usually have the second most power after the emperor, so yes, she can kill anyone she wants unless the emperor says no or her family has a lot of political/ military/ financial power.
