It makes me really sad how the story paints the MC’s younger brother from his past life as this mean, stupid kid. That’s not fair — the child just wanted love. Yes, he was a troubled kid from a bad family, and that doesn’t excuse his behavior, but his behavior itself was a cry for help.
What frustrates me even more is that the MC is mentally an adult trapped in a kid’s body because of reincarnation, yet he still thinks the same way. Sure, his past-life brother had a terrible attitude, but he’s still his brother. The MC was so focused on carving out his own path and meeting (even surpassing) his father’s expectations that he neglected his siblings and saw them only as immature kids. Wanting to succeed is admirable, but not if it comes at the cost of family — especially your younger siblings, whom you should have protected as the eldest.
Maybe it can be excused because that was his first life, and everyone makes mistakes in just one lifetime. But now he’s been given a second chance — a child with an adult mind — and yet he’s still thinking the same way. What’s his problem?
Yes, he got to be successful, inherited the company, and died before he could enjoy it. But now he’s reincarnated as a well-loved child with a baby brother who shows him affection, and he even returns that love. Yet he still thinks his past siblings were dumb. That’s pure hypocrisy. In a way, he’s still trying to win his past-life father’s approval and surpass his expectations all over again. What’s the point? The MC himself said his father wasn’t a family man and even cheated on his wife, but here he is, craving that father’s attention in the same way.
All in all, it just irritates me. The MC gets to live a good life, while his past siblings are stuck in that suffering. Why should they be left behind? Why weren’t they the ones given a better, more loving life? Why is it always the “golden child” who gets saved and given everything? What about the kids who broke under pressure, who weren’t perfect? Why don’t they get another chance?
This is a major turnoff for me in the manhwa “I Will Raise This Family Up.” The story doesn’t even seem to teach the MC a lesson. He still wants to be rich and doesn’t realize he could have a happy, normal life without becoming a child actor. He isn’t having a real childhood — he’s just repeating his past mistakes in a different form.
The worst part is how the other characters enable this, including his new parents. Really? He’s barely five years old and already doing all this? Yes, he may be a genius, but come on! Even the parents, who are portrayed as caring but naive, go along with it.
Logically, a parent should take pride in protecting their child and providing for the family—not allowing their toddler to work, no matter how mature the child seems. Even in difficult circumstances, parents should prioritize their child’s well-being over pushing them into labor.
But it’s not just the parents enabling this — the whole story seems to encourage it. They should be the ones stopping him, not supporting it. At first, the parents resist, but then they just go along with it… like, seriously?

It still is a nice manhwa to pass time with good arts. But this was my opinion on it.
