Nah hes just pathetic adult person with ptsd of the past. He got guidance by his evil duke and now he became evil and arrogance emperor. Its his fault for not taking the responsibilities as emperor properly and not realizing sooner that hes just a puppet by people below him. He is still pathetic

I do feel sorry for the emperor, he’s the result of his step mother (the ex empress) abuse and never received love from her, after stealing him from his biological mother, and the twisted grooming of the evil duke throughout his vulnerable childhood. Who wouldn’t grow up messed up emotionally like him if they had that kind of upbringing…🤔It’s not totally his fault for who he is as an adult /emperor, he doesn’t even realise that he’s being used like a puppet by the duke.

@Macadamiaraichu26 Tbh honest I think that this is the point of his character, beneath The Emperor’s shitty personality, behavior and decisions lie a pathetic man child that never had the opportunity to grow due to the evil Duke Manipulation, his traumatic past with his mother and stepmother, his natural weaknesses as a person and the unforgiving world of nobility.

It obvious doesn’t absolve him and Diana(because she is also a traumatized mess that was molded and manipulated by the Evil Duke – which if you aren’t getting yet it’s clear the main villain of the story and a dark reflection of Adelaine’s mother) of all the things they did, but can at least convince some members of the audience, like you and me, to see they in a more sympathetic light.

it’s not even satisfying to see him begging her to come back, it’s just pathetic. He still is blaming her for leaving.
