Do you really think that if the territory of Airelle asked for aide, without Cassian’s involvement, they would have received it? No. They would have been turned down. Lydon did the right thing because he knows the capital cannot help everyone out every time something happens. Cassian needs to learn to do things for himself but seems to refuse to actually do it alone. I feel Lydon deserves the throne more because he has had to do everything alone. When you are a king/emperor you are leading a kingdom/empire alone and need to have the skills to do it. Skills that Cassian seems to be unable or unwilling to learn. Cassian is like a Millennial and Lydon is Gen X.
