Some missing scenes in this chapter. In the novel, Frey speaks with the cat doll while he believes Kania is asleep. In a moment of weakness, he questions whether he is good enough to accomplish his goals. He doesn’t feel strong enough, but needs to keep pushing himself. Afterall, he’s a hero, right? After pouring his heart out to the cat doll, he continues to rub the cat’s belly until he falls asleep, and since Kania shares her senses with the doll… but in the morning, Frey wakes up and finds his mental fortitude stat has risen from 9.2 -> 9.5, commenting how he hasn’t cried since the previous timeline and must have reached his limit.
