That’s…kinda beautiful.
Everybody here is used to Chiyou’s bad behavior, so they have a natural association with hell monsters being…yeah, “uncivilized”.
But we’ve already seen that tigers and dragons can be perfectly–actually I can’t remember what the white tiger’s demeanor was, but the azure dragon was fairly genial. Who says a Styx monster can’t be a gentleman (woman? person?)? Although if they refer to blue, perhaps they sense the dragon’s pearl and that’s why their being polite.
