Alexandros is so toxic and I’m glad we all recognized that. I like his character in the story tho. Although i can understand people’s concern about promoting such toxic romance.

Well honestly I never hated Alexandros. He’s a typical not-a-romance-male-lead emperor since the beginning. Both of his marriages were political and the only reason he favored Aisha was because they had some things common between them. Emperors do marry and keep concubines for political reasons and let’s not forget the lust part and it’s highly unlikely for them to fall head over heels in love with someone. In my opinion he is what closest resemblance of a realistic emperor… until he got obsessed with the strong, intelligent and ever so beautiful empress.

For everyone saying he should kick the concubine out, they’ve already addressed why he can’t do that. They can’t divorce unless BOTH parties agree, which she said she never would. There are ways to force her out (eg. If the public demands it, if she attempts an assassination, etc) but Alex doesn’t have good evidence of that yet. He could try execution or banishment, but the church would throw a hissy fit and they’re too powerful to ignore. So until he has enough evidence to convict her, he’s stuck with her

I think the only nice, almost redeeming thing he did was threaten her abusive family out without her knowledge and say oopsies I didn’t know you hated them, babe when she cried. He never cleared up the misunderstandings and STILL has not kicked the concubine out!

well, sometimes manhwa authors change parts of the story to fit the narrative of the manhwa and maybe their logic. I’m not an author so I don’t really know the exact reason.

This is a bit different from the novel.. in the novel, Robelia and Caleb came back when they heard about the news that the Duke got sentenced to death, and they both showed up in public, when the Duke almost get executed. Then Alexandros recognize her, thus running towards her to hug her tightly
