I can think of two possibilities, either he just choose on his own or the son of a bitch duke tells him the truth which will make him sick of the emperor (probably) and he’ll join the demonic side, I want him to join the demons bcz of the demon king but I want him to choose humans bcz of the lofty Knights and “REMEMBER”, and if the duke tells him, he’ll also think that his brother cares about him(probably)and maybe choose the human’s side?

The human side the good thing in there is that his comrade or friends treat him like human but the others don’t
The demon side like everyone respect him they treat him more like human than the human side
