I already produced a theory, what if. The eldest as you said, has gone through another world, but as a result lost his maturity(?) or his original personality. And if i look closely at the second brothers dream. I think that’s his future, and that’s him meeting the nightmare

No I think they regress. 1st brother was lost in another rift amount rift maybe he had gone through the other parallel world once. 2nd brother had a vivid dream could maybe related to another parallel world as well
