@brahhh it’s to make him stronger. In orignal novel the ml was abandoned by his orignal master. The orignal master tried to kill ml, which caused great trauma and trust issues to the ml. But thanks to that he became stronger and was able to conquer the labyrinth.

Adding to the other guy’s comment of getting stronger; since the original scenario didnt happen (getting trauma and gain regression something power) she decided to do it on her own. So she gave him freedom and now the guy thinks he was abandoned.
