She believes he send a killer based on unreliable clues. I get if she doesn’t trust him because of that but she doesn’t think about the possibility that the one among the small number of suspects could be among her family either.
If she showed that she doubts all the people among the suspects I would get why she doesn’t tell her brother about the situation with the killer but it doesn’t look like she does so why not let her brother investigate what happened.
