Don’t quite like the FL, she wouldn’t even question him and kept being silent and scared, she didn’t even try to get to the bottom of the problem and believed whatever she heard thinking it’s true.

I really hope the writers have a good reason for this. Because why? It doesn’t make sense to me. Obviously it’s not gonna be the Duke. If it was someone wanting to keep the Duke in line, why would they let her go, especially knowing she’s carrying his child. The assassin clearly doesn’t give a shit about her or her being pregnant. And he clearly had no reason to tell her all that unless it was a deliberate set up. But what the heck is the point of setting all this up? It at least would’ve made more sense if it had been a multi-person ambush and she was “able to run away” and then they frame the Duke just by using his crest and/ or saying his name or something.
