While that bastard deserves to die most painfully (and I hope he does), they also need to get out of him the names of those who helped him plan the assault. After all, he needed to have had significant help and info to bypass all security and attack the saint in the middle of a holy ceremony that was rescheduled last minute.
What of the oracle too? If she can predict a period messing with the ceremony, she can surely see an attack that will definitely mess up the same ceremony (and everything else). All of it is sus to the max
