It would make more sense if she just pretended to lose her memory and make her less suspicious. But first, apologize will be nice. Tho, the milk already spilled but it will be more than enough to start off everything.
Wait What
I don’t think [Unnamed Reincarnated/Transmigrated FL] owes Hir an apology.
What she owes him is an explanation. He might not believe it and think she’s gone crazy, but he might not believe an apology, either. (I wouldn’t–apologies really aren’t worth much if the behavior doesn’t change, and in really life people generally don’t change their behavior even when they really are sorry. They mostly apologize to ‘clear the air’–to reduce the victim’s hostility towards themselves, or at least make the victim feel guilty for showing hostility. This isn’t always a bad thing if it lets a community keep functioning when they need to, but it doesn’t fix the problem.)
This isn’t just a situation where the FL is in a relatively safe position from which she might be honest about her reincarnation.
It is a simple fact that the body of Leila/Ruella Marshmell (god what a name) has been possessed twice in a relatively few number of years. It follows on that [Unnamed Reincarnator #2] might suddenly be swapped for yet another soul, or one of her predecessors might move back in.
Which is a better compensation: a useless apology for stuff she’s not guilty of, or an honest explanation and advice on how to proceed if any of those things happen?
This is something that bugs me about a lot of these stories–the author only gives the characters one plan of action. In other words, the author only bothered to invent one plan. In a real strategic situation–war, industry, espionage, farming, parenting, you-name-it–you build in contingencies and redundancies, or you fail pretty fast.
You want to make a kid happy? You make them safe. You want to make a kid safe? You empower them.
What’s more powerful in these transmigration stories than foreknowledge?

Oh but if she were to apologize, y’all would say smthn like “stop saying excuses, that doesn’t dismiss what you did to him, blah blah blah”……like…be so fr rn 🙄 and obviously I’m not saying that she shouldn’t apologize, I’m saying that even if she did, y’all would STILL BE TWO FACED🤨 (to clarify further, this ISN’T towards everyone, it’s towards the ppl who would STILL COMPLAIN ABOUT EVERYTHING)
RenTheWitch
so, apologize, start by that
Aerixo
Apologize. It might not have been your fault, but you’re wearing the face of the person who is at fault.

Start by apologizing dumbass. 😒
