I went back and reread. The girl with the red cap is Jules friend, or old friend. In chapter 92, when Jules talks to Al, he talks about how his friend from (insert complicated place name) told him something, with an illustration, which looks like that girl with the red hat. (Short black hair with bangs, red cap.)
