He DIDN’T love her. He loved the idea of her. Like how people put faith on something to the point theu began to obsess. I am rereading this. And I did realize that he never truly did know her. I understood the point of him revenging on father. And tbh that’s how most monarch worked. That doesn’t justify his actions, to the point where he threatened to lock her up in mental hospital? tbh. If he was actually a husband in the novel of modern world, we would be calling him sadist. He no different than the people who put him through those tortures. It also means that should we be apologizing everyday, and feel guilty for living a good life, because others aren’t. We should sympathize with others, help others, but that doesn’t mean we don’t desrve to be happy. Would we ever know what actually some victim went through. No! And she was so young for god’s sake! You can’t die, you can’t divorce, you loose your child and can’t conceive anymore. Hiding about child’s existence from people, and people punishing you just for naivity. Threatening to put in mental hospital if you didn’t part take in the public even t where people are after to humiliate you. He sure makes a good psyho character, a villain, a guy that should remain ex husband. Tbh I read spoiler. And wished the story was more about both of them healing away from each other, Annette getting over her past with Heiner and finding a love who loved her not for the face but for who actually she was. Not hating people who killed her child and made her barren. Pardoning their mistakes. Helping people despite them hating her. Remaining neutral despite everyone wished for her despair and death. Before really commenting on her. You should put yourself in her place and realize that how un fair everything was with her. That also goes with Heiner too, he destroyed monarchy and people call him ‘your highness’. He had a very difficult life, but you are punishing a girl because she isn’tt the person you deluded yourself into.

We still dont know the point where he came up with the idea of torturing her.
The thing is i do t hate him, hes an excelente character.
He at some point started to resent the monarchy. And he say her as a part of it.
She was ignorante and naive, but still had a really great life, and that was something he never had. And started to get closer to her, and liking her while being remided to this whole thing.
Hes mentally not great too.
And he let these intense thoughts of hes wander around and get bigger.
And he needed her suic3d attempt to realise what mind set shes in.
He didnt se her change because he belived that her life was amezing and for that what hes doing to her is nothing and it should do nothing to her.
He does love her but hes so fuck3d in the mind too, and burried this love because he feelt like he needs to hate her because what her being stands for.
Thats why i love hes character, its amezingly done.

My Fl looked so cute and cuddly when she was little. She also used to be very cheerful and happy, but Ml is the reason why she becomes more emaciated and depressed every day. I really hope that by the end of the story, fl will find her own happiness that has nothing to do with ml 🙏 🙏 🙏
