I understand how she wants her daughter back and I respect it. I won’t call her dumb for wanting her daughter. I don’t understand why people are angry at her for wanting her daughter back instead of for having an affair with a man and breaking his heart… what she did with the ML is deplorable. She is supposed to be 50+ right? How is she so immature? I would have excused her behaviour if she were younger. But she is literally as old as the Ml’s mother ffs! By that time, I don’t think “not confessing to your high school crush” is the biggest regret you would have. She is old enough to understand what she did was clearly wrong. She just thinks her crush is an emotionless person who stands very high in society when he was not even recognised as a proper noble? Hit it were 2 years later then maybe, but at the time of their affair, she was on equal footing in terms of social status. She just sees the Ml as “hot stuff” with whom she just wanted to make some “memories” aka a tool to fulfill her fantasies.… The ML will be heartbroken but atleast he can move on so I don’t think his life will be miserable. But she will be always be miserable and comparing her husband to the ml. She already resented her husband in her previous life and it was clearly a loveless marriage. Let’s be honest, the husband wasn’t a bad person. We can clearly see him being uncomfortable with his mother. Also, he is young and looks timid. These can be unattractive to people but honestly, that’s just how most men his age are(I have seen men up to age 30 act like this). Just because he is a side character and worse… conventionally “unattractive” doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve a good life. His mother is ruining his life by constantly nagging him and the person who is going to marry him sees him as a tool(The FL sees the husband as just a way to make her daughter). He should toughen up tho… I don’t like the husband but I just pity him. A cursed side character lmao. Coming back to the fl, why would you put yourself and him through the misery again? If the daughter herself wished to not be born, means that there was something severely wrong with her parents. They are just not meant for each other. There is not a single happy memory with her husband in the 20 years of marriage that she has to make memories before the marriage!? I think it’s a hopeless marriage and shouldn’t happen for the sake of everyone involved.

Of course she doesn’t want to confront having lost her daughter forever and she’s making choices based on that. Though marrying a man she doesn’t love with a MIL who puts pressure on the relationship is unfortunate for both her and the man who might find a wife who fits him better of worse without her.
She may have more life experience but she’s also used to the life she has led before. A lot of people stick with the job that they know makes them miserable because change is scary. Confronting the pain of knowing you permanently lost someone is also scary.
