I get why a lot of people are frustrated with what’s happening. Personally, I get where the FL is coming from – I guess that’s why I’ve been teary so much while reading so far.
In the first place, she did not instantly seek after the ML. It was casual occurrences where she was able to, some actions to take as she remembers her daughter’s words to go for it. Sooner or later, she relapsed because she is extreme conflict. Everything sank in gradually. She’s a mother and I see her in literally mine. My mom went to another country to be with dad, dropped out of college, took on my in-laws despite numerous profanities and belittlement. She said she would literally do everything for us – her children.
Imagine taking that out from her purpose to live. She literally raised her daughter till adulthood. A mother’s love is no joke. They can get selfish just to be with their children. It’s common and human. If that happened to me, I’d probably get mad at mom why she had to relive her life just to be with me when I clearly told her no. But she might not listen – HAHAH. She wouldn’t care.
And the FL is in total denial of what’s happening. She doesn’t know if she can get her daughter back. She is still stuck in the past because she had lived that past with her daughter for years. It doesn’t take a few months to simply drop the latter. She did explain it wasn’t that miserable for her as the daughter thought – it was a loveless marriage, but it wasn’t the worse. So her level of resentment is not overpowering.
This might be her healing arc – where she needs to realize it’s okay. It takes a special someone to understand why. I’m living for it! It’s painful to read, but I feel like it’s fulfilling to know if it goes right in the end.

I know the fl wants to have her daughter back because can you all really blame her she’s a mother who loves her child very much but her child sent her back to the past for a reason and that is for her to live a happy life because her daughter knows her mother is living a miserable life but the fl is kinda stupid literally have she even thought about the ml feeling’s if she’s gonna repeat her previous life she shouldn’t have gotten close with the ml just to take back everything in the end
