Shouldn’t that be even more of a reason for her to read it though? Claire doesn’t see weak and fragile when she see’s Eciel. Eciel and her love is a source of strength for her. She’s practically a tether to humanity for Claire. Maybe the Astariol twin in the records was not taught how to convey his feelings and is what led to his death. It’s as if the other Astariols are afraid of just how “human” Eciel makes Claire.
