Why do people think he has a wife, nowhere in the story did it indicate that he had someone else. She got the notice from the army that he was dead, if there’s a wife she would’ve gotten it, not some commoner chick in a random village. Also if he had a wife there’s no way the dude at the beginning would’ve addressed her as the dutchess. If she was just some side piece he wouldn’t have listed her as the person to contact with all that stuff.
