The author just forcing a reason on why she would pick the doctor. But her actions make no sense. Cassius and her communication accidentally got cut off, she still loves him, and he loves her, their daughter is crying about not having a father. Keeping her from her father will only cause her daughter to hate her when she grows up. It makes no sense
