In the later part of the story it will show us that Areal had to hurt her brother to protect him from other heralds because they was the children of the traitor and his brother(mc) was a kind hearted person so he will be treated much more harshly. Or the herlads path is a harsh one and she does not want her kind brother to walk on this dangerous path that’s why she did that to him.
