I’m glad Phil finally got some satisfaction back. But asides from that, I still personally don’t like the Emperor, the switch up in his treatment from chapter 1 still puts me off. Because our Phil is still the same Phil from the og timeline, she just found out about the original plot so essentially she’s still the same person at her core who got a warning of her fate and she decided to change it.
The Emperor’s guilt made him reflect on his actions toward her, but other than that if it wasn’t for Phil taking precautions, he’d still treat her the same way he did in the past.

…It appears that Lady Roseanne believes that, while Philomel is merely a lucky commoner, she herself achieved the status of Baron’s daughter by dint of great merit, rather than being randomly born…a baron’s daughter.
In either direction, the status differential here is the result of ‘luck’.
Soooo–how is it fair to steal someone’s property just because you were lucky to be born with a certain degree of status above them???
