I disagree it’s toxic. I like their equal dynamics. I hate story where there’re so much power and abilities gap. That’s for me is toxic.. FLs wait for MLs to solves problem with his power and money ew.
At least here, both FL and ML has their own personality and power that different to each other but by no mean, one is superior or inferior.
The dont have to agree with each other all the time (ugh, those simping and weak mind characters), but find a way to compromise.
In relationship if you cant be your own and have to agree with each other all the time, that what i call toxic.
