If we’re being fr the Mc is dumb for being oblivious to Edwin when he looks the same except older. He even got called Ed by one of his subordinates it’s not that hard to see that it’s him especially since it’s 10 years later. She literally knows ed can use magic too she’s just being obtuse. Also why would you be a gambler after seeing your parent figure get killed and not find means to protect yourself if you’re going to continue gambling? The story is fine but making the Mc dumb/ weak in some ways for plot just sucks so far she’s been saved almost every time she’s gambled.
