Locking someone up and taking their freedom away is always negative. Doesn’t matter how emotionally stunted you are. She didn’t answer him so he locked her up to punish her. Hope she leaves his butt soon

Y’all, having sex before marriage and knowing what her reactions will be does not a good relationship make. He’s effectively keeping her in a gilded cage, removing her property and punishing her for being human. He berates her before he does as she asks without ever telling her. He’s bad at communication, but that’s not an excuse. This woman needs to leave him because she’s a person, not a pet.

I don’t remember ever seeing a story where ML and FL are already having intercourse before marriage. 😳

@Higanbana – yes thats what im thinking the ml is not good at being expressive, you can see him changing the color of his eyes to gray when the fl mentioned something that hinders their marriage thingy, whilst the light gray is for caring and gentleness.

i agree with the comment below. Usually loveless engagement wouldn’t have intercourse between them. Like they only have seggs for the heirs…

The two weren’t even married yet and she slept with him, something apparently common, since she asked the maid to bring her contraceptives and there was no reaction from the maid, which is strange given the time in which the story takes place, chastity was very important and nothing could happen before marriage… then she acts as if the little that the ML shows is not sincere and that he doesn’t care, which you can see is not quite like that.
ML is just horrible at communicating and showing what he feels, but he is observant and sagacious enough to realize that family members are no good and what FL may or may not try to do… he just didn’t count on her asking for an annulment of the engagement, but otherwise he knew how to predict her reaction and that of the public in general. Even though she is technically bankrupt, he didn’t abandon her yet, so I’ll observe a little more, but for now he’s not a good ML or a bad one, I’ve seen worse ones that managed to be forgiven by the FLs and ended up together even after the horrible things they did to them.

I don’t care if he actually cares for her. He’s garbage. I can’t wait for her to leave him.
