@Higanbana Because he has given her zero reason to work with him. He treated her concern for her father with coldness – someone loses their father and he says “just wait”. That is a HUGE red flag for anyone who is in a state of crisis of possibly losing her father and only other person of kin.
Even if it’s a misunderstanding, it’s a misunderstanding caused by not trusting his fiance. And, by his omission, a VERY competent one. She’s well in her right to try and take control of the situation she’s been placed into. Publicly taking the blame for something out of her hands, having royalty come after her, and being accosted for ignorance (by going outside) while also being actively kept in the dark over any of the matters.
Author really did a number on this ML cause wow he’s very unlikable

FL is too proud and without reason, the guy will find out anyway, because she always chooses the most complicated path? Tell what happened and end this nonsense right away! FL is annoying, she has no resources and no influence, I don’t know what she thinks she will achieve by walking away from her fiancé… Her father’s sudden disappearance is very suspicious and many people are happy with what happened, I doubt it was just an accident caused by bad weather, she should be trying to work together with ML and not alone!
