Ergi was definitely working with Heinry to take down the eastern empire.

No saint can rule empire. Light cannot survive without darkness. Henry is perfect the way he is. He killed christa, a headache that can cause problem in the future. Rotten parts should be immediately cut off. He is now destroying duke’s family, he wants full control. He is badass emperor

@ Charlithepop THANK YOU!!!🗣️ You’re speaking nothing but facts.

Duke ergi is the real villain. Nigga was an opp

Ngl I’m glad it’s progressing the way it is. You can say rashta was manipulated but she is a grown woman and had committed murder and had committed crimes and unjust treatment to others. She let it get to her head and wasn’t just doing all that she could to survive atp. At the end of the day, you reap wha you sow. Duke ergi is messy asf for what he did, yes, but he does make a great antagonist. And heinrey, he’s from the rival empire. He is definitely trying for navier to be a better person, though begrudgingly, but I also like the fact that he’s two sided. It gives his character more depth. When I see people hating on him, that proves my point. Hes not supposed to be entirely likeable and that’s what makes his character interesting. I want my glorious king to have a great life with navier hehehe 😹🙏🏽

Did Heinry go to far by ordering her suicide? Yes. Did Krista deserve heavy punishment for trying to cause a scandal with the current Emperor? Also yes.
Tbh death was too much for Krista’s situation, Heinry should’ve just forced the family out of politics and the capital. Tho iirc he only escalated this when the dumbass duke was trying to plan something, when Krista was already been caught by Heinry.

Okay now i feel bad for rashta
chipimunk
wait what: for krista it presumably *was* an assassination disguised as an accident/suicide, so he did apparently do it the “kinder” way. although i get your point.
as for rashta, i understand what you’re saying. duke ergi began his manipulation the moment he met her, but she also had ill intentions from the day she arrived in the palace. if sovieshu had handled his attraction better, sure, maybe it could have turned out better for her.
but she was obviously antagonizing the empress – in some historical dramas that alone is enough for execution, but obviously not in this one.
rashta was manipulated, but she also did commit horrible crimes. she’s tragic, yes, but she was a bad person before the manipulation even began. she never would have been happy with simply being a maid or a surrogate, it was clear she wanted power from day one.
sure, there’s a horrible history she has that explains why she was that way, but I have also had a bad history and it’s no excuse to be a murderer, home-wrecker, habitual liar, etc.
rasta’s crimes will surely come to light, and i’m sure she will be punished for those on top of her “deceiving the emperor.”

Well looks like the Port that was given to Ergi would be the the last straw… Bye Rashta
Wait What
Um…yeah, no.
You don’t repay clinginess and scandal by pushing someone into suicidal depression. We put murderers through sensory deprivation and solitary confinement, not homewreckers. If you’re going to kill someone anyway for political reasons, an assassination disguised as an accident would actually be kinder.
I get that this is a morally gray story and I kinda love it for that, but I’m not going to minimize the–um, *disproportionality* of Krista’s death just because it was Heinry who ordered it and not Sovieshu.
I get that you’re projecting Rashta’s transgressions onto Krista because she stepped in as competition to Navier, and I get that you’re empathizing with Navier’s open wounds concerning infidelity but…don’t. Just…don’t.
Wait What
Rashta gets sooo much hate, but I think the author expresses pretty clearly that she was exploited and manipulated into her present state.
The fact is, she’d have *joyfully* settled in as a surrogate nanny/adult child/mistress/whatever to Sovieshu *and* Navier if–well, if Sovieshu hadn’t fucked up so royally by failing to be honest with Navier in the first place, and then if Ergi hadn’t convinced her that she had to fight Navier to stay in the palace and keep her unborn child safe. Rashta wouldn’t have survived her life thus far if she wasn’t tenacious and willing to fight for her life–she’d have kicked the bucket.
Initially, Rashta was an exploited teenager, stunted emotionally by neglect, abuse and again, exploitation, looking for *parental* figures in the Emperor and Empress.
It’s messed up psychology. It is. But it’s authentically messed up psychology.
She’s not rejecting her children, as some people here seem to think–she desperately wants a family any way she can get one. She’s just too damaged and conflicted and TRAPPED to be a fit parent.
But here’s the kicker–she’s not going to be punished for the *evil* things she did, not really. She’s likely going to be executed because she ‘deceived the Emperor’, which she’s not guilty of–she didn’t *know* she was pregnant with Gloryem when she escaped slavery (only to get caught in a freaking bear trap? Symbolic foreshadowing, anyone?)
Soveishu has quite literally been storing up excuses to throw her out so he can have his beloved empress and his legitimate biological child and the exploited surrogate can go hang (also quite literally).
I guess what I’m saying is that she’s a TRAGIC villainess–more Macbeth than Lady MacBeth, at that.
I know that a lot of people here read so many different stories at once that they tend to forget stories and character progressions as a whole, but I think y’all would be richer for the exercise in empathy if you did.
Shadow13
Why blame Heinrey for Krista’s death? she hanged herself… besides, she was scheming something against Navier at that time because she still wanted to be queen and she harbour feelings towards Heinrey… Duh
Woobies
Still insane to know that Sovieshu was the infertile one the whole time
Stacey Franchescka
How dare this a****** blamed the death of Krista to Heinry. It was not their fault that b**** still clinging to the position of Empress even though she’s a widow already. It was not Heinry’s responsibility to marry his late brother’s wife . This trash family would be the next TRashta ughhh
