Fun fact: “Thule” is the semi-mythical northernmost location mentioned in ancient Greek and Roman literature, used in a similar fashion as Europeans and Americans using “Timbuktu” as shorthand for the back of beyond.
From Thule’s eventual association with Scandinavia, we get the name *Thulium* for the rare element which is silvery.
And from *there* we get the term “Thulian pink”, used to refer to cooler toned, muted pinks with a bit of silver or gray in them.
