As someone who knows the novel, that theory is incomplete, and so incorrect in a big way. SPOILER (but without giving too much away): The culprit behind the false accusation is not either of the princes, but “Sasha” does know the truth and feels responsible due to complicated circumstances. The real culprits framed Luce as collateral for monetary gain, as her union with Felix would cost them a great deal of loss in their comfortable living. And the princes seek to help her in their own ways; one out of guilt (and affection for her, hence the guilt), and one to solve a more personal problem.

My theory is Sasha was in love with luce and the culprit of the case is the brother who is acting like crown prince. He either hated luce and set her up or he wanted to help his brother with separating her from Felix. I don’t think Sasha would have set her up and stayed with her from the personality we have seen so far. He is feeling guilty because of his brother and staying with her meanwhile brother has to act as crown prince as his punishment.
