Atonement doesn’t come with forgiveness they doesn’t come in one package that’s not how it’s work it’s fiction I know but even in real life it ran true still. I have read stories of Mafia and cartel members that actually atone and these people probably did the worst thing imaginable and their atonement comes with guilts but not forgiveness these stigma will always follow them to their graves especially from their victims but that didn’t stop them from atoning
