I cannot beleive the story dedicated 66 chapters to Luce returning the the Capital and being ruled innocent in the trial – and then proceeded to only give 18 chapters for literally everything else.
This is the worst case of rushing a manhua I’ve ever seen.
I agree that the ending was rushed… There are so many holes in the last 2 3 chapters… Like Leonardo and Luce sitting down and having there chat, at least there should be a panel for that… I don’t mind about skipping the whole entering the society thing but there should have been a family reunion and also Luce scolding her father to almost getting blamed for treason… Plus Blair and Roman were not seen at all in the last 15 chapters that sucks 😒 and so many stuff… But yes I wanted to see how Luce and Leo developed there relationship leading to the wedding
I agree, it was very rushed. She just magically knew the exact motives of the sancherts family? Where was the conflict of the reveal? Where was the effort to navigate uncovering the mystery with all the secondary characters we were introduced to in season 1. There was 4 characters who were built up to support her throughout the next challenges that would’ve followed. Where was the story of re-entering society, reuniting with her family, avoiding murder attempts, uncovering the mystery, her estrangement with felix?!
Where was the conflict between the twins – which there absolutely should’ve been. Felix had some outrageous audacity to be mad that his brother didn’t want to continue living as a puppet and a lie for him. Why is alexander getting punished so harshly for something that Felix was heavily to blame for?! And what an absolute character assassination on Alexander as well. He was literally turned into the Royals shameful secret and puppet who innocently fucked up, to an immature man child that was causing headaches for everyone.
Also where was the plot line with the lawyer. I honestly thought we’d see him a lot more heavily in season 2 as – per her words – he’s the only one she currently trusted. Seeing her work with him to uncover the truth and maybe have him turn into a love interest or confident who respected her as a person and her interests. Where was that?!
The first season was so tightly written and had so many characters they were building on that I thought this would take three seasons and be a solid and incredible story – one that I honestly thought would’ve ended with her going her own way single, or finally having healed enough to accept an offer for a first date.
I’m honestly disappointed. The author clearly has a lot of talent, as the first season proves. It’s a shame they weren’t able to continue to afford the time this series deserved.
