It’s a high skill occupation that’s why cooking manhwas are always so intense. As a chef myself competitions in culinary school is much more nerve wrecking than just being in a high volume/high standard commercial kitchen. Every thing is upto standard in competitions and culinary school, that’s because that’s where you learn the industry standards. When you work outside that’s when you can get creative because then you cater to preferrence be it from the customer or the head chef. I know to some people it’s “just food”, but think about the chef’s environment; it’s a fast paced, no room for error, and highly dangerous kind of environment. That’s why most fine dining chefs are strickler for rule and safety, because the environment is dangerous and we’re handling something that gets ingested by paying customers.

I think it is just my personal preference, but I am incapable of taking cooking/chef related stories seriously…even more so when the characters are acting like they are on the battlefield fighting for their lives (which may be the case from their perspective), but I find it ridiculous “like chill dude, it is just a soup”.
Going from monsters, holy powers and murder to cooking and a school arc is a real downgrade.
