I wish there was a story that sort of has a push and pull to these toxic ones, but the FL ends up with a different guy instead. I see ones with that premise, but they end the drama early on with the ex bc the “better” ML uses his noble influence and FL doesn’t end things 100% her own. They make the ex comedically evil with their mistresses, when I just want a story without that bs. Instead I want a heartfelt breakup and geniune failure of the ex ML trying to get her back when it’s too late. No accidents happen to him where FL crawls back out of concern. Where my ideal ending is her picking a new green flag guy, and the ex miserably acknowledges her new man is better than him as he either crumbles into despair or eventually finds a new lady.
Ooh, and if there’s an epilogue their kids fall in love like enemies to lovers and make things awkward between the in-laws. Like the ex’s kid grew up without love and daddy issues, while the FLs kid was spoiled and takes their parents attention for granted. Then the parents are also hitting some rough patches in their marraiges, like ex’s wife is jelly her cold hubby still loves FL and that her kid likes FL more as a fun mom when her kid is a spoiled out of control brat.
