fl is indeed passive but seeing as how Cassius is a duke it is understandable in her head they doesn’t have such a close relationship to talk harsh to him so she needs to be careful, also just because her sister is irresponsable doesn’t mean that she would abandon a child, so taking care of her was a given, i guess that fl is a nice person before being passive

For the time she wasted telling the guy that they should talk later because they had an audience, she could have told him to shut up and listen, then she could have gone and explained right away that the child is not hers but a relative’s….
The fl is very passive, since her sister left a newborn with her and left to buy milk, that’s why she stays quiet while the ml guy draws his own conclusions. :p
