I really do want to root for Alphonso but it’s been over 100 chapters and he’s yet to show any meaningful actions that not only help Adriana but also himself in standing out as a king. Had it not been for Adriana and the queen, Alphonso would have been humiliated, laughed at or even killed by those who did not side with the crown prince. Even his knights show more backbone than him.
Meanwhile, Cesare has had to pick up the tiniest of scraps left behind by Alphonso to make himself stand out. He uses his own connections to get things done and even though his mother has been horrible to him since childhood, he’s still loyal enough to save her at the cost of his dignity.
