Oh ofc he loves FL, too. But I feel like being a prince is his #1 priority (or should be) and she’s #2, which again isn’t bad, heck it’s probably how every relationship should be. That’s why you need to find a partner that shares similar life goals as you. He gave up a lot for her, and defied his parents when they wanted him to have an arranged marraige. It seems like he did it for the coochie, but FL is more valuable as a leader than that crazy chick. He isn’t a complete simp for FL like that crazy lady is to him. (And even she has tricks up her sleeve and is willing to kill him if he doesn’t comply)

That guy reminds me of uncle Iroh from ATLA except Zuko is way better than Alfonso. I hope Alfonso gets more character development on the battlefield, even without it tho he’ll still be a better king than his father or Cesare. Being sheltered and spoiled isn’t always bad, it just makes him too innocent, naive, and a bit oblivious to the real world, that isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Like rich kid problems who don’t realize their lives could be way worse and that others can’t help but to suffer more on a daily basis just bc of the family they happened to be born in. I think he’s showing some progress by sort of caring for his knights? But he seems to be more concerned with his own survival and faking his resolution (which isn’t that bad). Which could backfire if they find out he isn’t sincere. Caring more about your knights and the people could help him gain more respect and allies when usurping the throne. OR help create a backing to take down both kingdoms’ tyrants to live happily ever after.
