I love how the character of Alfonso and Cesar have in contrast to how their mothers tried to protect them. Cesar’s mom being cunning and backhanded approach to keep herself on top along with her son. Cesar wanting to prove himself, only to be spoon fed all the solutions he needed. While Alfonso’s mother was willing to crawl and humble her way to shield her son, him only experincing pain through war but her love pushed him towards greatness.
Both boys relied on their mothers’ influence to get ahead, it’s just how they make use of their love is what makes them different.
