@Solomon3212 the tower master is more or less the same as Gong-ja. She, like Gong-ja, created the tower to shoulder all the misery and resentment of the cosmos, all by herself.

Also! Due to this chapter (upon reread) I think I can answer the question KOD has. Why Flame dude and why him?
The tower is clearly sentient to a degree and the first time it selected someone who could push forward and try and clear it. They made a mistake. So they went looking for another zero to hero candidate who had the will to see things through no matter the personal sacrifice and got our mc.
Why I think this? The wording of the hidden quest. The tower knows what journey mc is undertaking and wanted to thank him even though no one else would remember.
