I cant remember it, but he said hes once the strongest and that thing is the only one he remembered on the early ch, and he proved it on possessing vlad and killing dullahan or whatever.

That spirit, If I am not mistaken; He is the former Swordmaster and the one who created the swordmaster code and was the former emperor of those lands, and he is the son of the dragon duke. that means he is a noble and a high one at that

Vlad never talked to a sword, he always talks with a spiritual being . That spirit resides within vlad, not within a sword. That spirit used his power too much during the village incident and then the dragon hunt which lead the spirit to a dormant state for a time period
