Sabito…. You really are dumb lol. He “declared war” on them when he threatened the captain. Which is exactly what he had to do to join the competition. What he did was smart. If he slept out in the open like they expected he’d have his throat cut in his sleep. Taking over a room means he only has to worry about enemies from one direction. The better you do in the tournament, the more likely they’ll try to kill you while sleeping. So securing a defendable position is key to winning.
Also, the longest period recorded that someone has stayed awake is 11 days. That’s no magic or chi abilities. So as someone who’s contracted to the god of darkness… I’d say he’s probably able to stay awake for much longer.

no better how capable and strong a person can be, they still needs 3% the basic needs for of a human to survive. Too much arrogant to declare a war against pirates in a land of pirates before survival competition.
