You know guys. My sister is adopted. My parents never told her that she was adopted, and my dad passed away taking that secret to his grave. After my dad passed away, I compelled my mother to tell her and make sure that she feels reassured that things will work out in the futre for all of us. And, we told her. I still remember the look on her face when we told her, but you knw what I did right after? I went beside her and hugged her and said, “we are not related by blood, but we are related by fate. No one else will be my little sister. That position is reserved only for you.” She cried when she heard this. Even my mother cried and said that she will always be her daughter. Sometimes family is not about being related by blood. Sometimes, your daughter can be a homeless girl you found on the roadside. Sometimes, your father is the man who beat up your real parents for abusing you. Sometimes, your mother is someone who loved you when the entire world hated you. You don’t choose your family. Your family chooses you. You can’t change that.

@Inactive reader 2356 betrayal, made to believe, I would understand if they were abused but if its not the case their a piece of turd to trash all the care the adoptive parents put in raising them and suddenly they become strangers after knowing. Some doesn’t tell because they wanted to raise them as their flesh and blood, the fear they wont be treated as real parents. Imagine trying to discipline them and then hear them say “your not even my real parents”. To me telling them is like raising a pet, yes they do care raise them quite nice maybe spoil them too but what’s the difference.

@Destruction its not so much the fact that they were adopted it’s more the feeling of betrayal due to them hiding it it’s one thing to know that they aren’t your real parents and accept them regardless and another to be made to believe that and find out that’s not the case which is why most adoptive parents tell their child themselves after a certain age

Lots of adoption in my family so I don’t understand it either @destruction 🤨
Destruction
I can’t understand why people in book/movie react like this after they find out their mother isn’t biologically related. What’s the big deal with that ? I mean, if she raised you preciously then that’s the more reason to love/respect her even if you find out that she’s not blood related… Of course, I can understand their reaction if the mother doesn’t care a-bit about the child and do bad thing since childhood.

Don’t do this to parents who have raised you with love and even though you are a stepchild and loved like your own, return the love.

Mothers are a gift, especially those that willing raise others children preciously as if their own. Wake up call
